Lastly, you can get rich by building up a monopoly in the auction house. That means if there are only a small number of (quite cheap) items of one kind in the auction house, purchase them all and resell them for much more gold. Nobody also will have one of those items in the auctions house (because you buy all of them), so you can sell totally unrivaled.

1) Main key: Get gathering professions! There is nothing more important than this one. I frequently use mining and skinning, but any of them work.
